Set just off Passeig de Gràcia – Barcelona’s grand, humming shopping boulevard – Sir Victor Hotel reflects and amplifies the energetic, creative spirit of the city. With 91 impeccable guest rooms, an organic & vegan luxe spa by Signature, the lively steakhouse MR PORTER, one of the city’s coolest member clubs, and a stunning rooftop terrace, it’s a rendezvous spot for visitors and locals alike.
Starting with the Lobby of Sir Victor, we have expanded our collaboration over time to four unique, yet coherent, music areas in the 5-star hotel, which is one of the latest additions to the Sircle Collection—an independent group of creative hospitality brands that are located in Europe’s most inspiring neighborhoods.
“The Movement team has been very professional in each step of the process. From defining the musical identity of the space to being proactively supportive, the relationship between our teams is very close and attentive.”– Anne-Sophie Rosell, Marketing & Events Manager
Sir Victor’s Marketing & Events Manager, Anne-Sophie Rosell shared, “Music is absolutely key in each space of the hotel. There is a distinct identity for each area. There are many opportunities for discovering something new through the smooth sonic journey. The music in the Lobby helps set the tone for the hotel experience. The Rooftop’s music inspires a great vibe. The Spa’s music selection elegantly relaxes guests. We only hear great tunes!”
Transforming the Lobby Into a Music Discovery Portal
In the entrance area, guests are greeted by a bright, playful aesthetic contrasted with deep, dark details to create a rich, stimulating colour palette. The hotel’s designers have combined Barcelona’s vibrant streetscape with the colour schemes of the sea and mountains, bringing to life a world that feels rooted in the city while also imbued with the lightness of the ocean.
“Entering the hotel door to welcoming music is always a delight! Every time of the day has a different vibe. I save a lot of great tracks that are new to me to my personal playlist.”– Anne-Sophie Rosell
The tailor-made weekly mix is correspondingly charming: a delicate blend of dream pop, chillwave, and smart jazz, occasionally refreshed by bold tracks with defined clean beats and sophisticated instrumentation. In the evening, high-definition, groovy tracks get the international crowd in the mood for the hustle and bustle of the city – either in one of the great restaurants just a stone’s throw away of Sir Victor or at the hotel’s popular meeting point, which is just a lift ride away: The Rooftop.
We asked Anne-Sophie to share some of her favorite tracks she has discovered while spending time in the hotel. She shared, “I listen to music all the time and Sir Victor is one of my top sources for discovering music. Some of the newer artists I’ve saved are sir Was and Nick Hakim, as well as more unknown tracks like The Jam’s “English Rose”.
Deep & Dreamy Vibes for a One-of-a-Kind Rooftop Experience
The Rooftop at Sir Victor is a secluded bar, restaurant, and pool above Barcelona offering stunning views of Gaudí’s Casa Milà and La Sagrada Familia. While soaking up the Spanish sun on plush sunbeds or staying cool in the pool, guests are offered a locally inspired food and drinks menu.
“The Rooftop’s musical journey enhances the overall experience, including the design of the space and the culinary offerings. You can see guests and team members enjoying the different vibes throughout the day.”– Anne-Sophie Rosell
Together with the creative team, we decided on a light, fun, and chilled-out vibe for The Rooftop’s soundtrack. Deep and dreamy vocals accompanied by soft beats are the perfect combination for a comforting morning at The Rooftop as pastel colours fade into a clear blue sky. The day comes into full swing bringing sunny and spicy exotic rhythms – think Calypso, Bossa Nova, Boogaloo – mixing into easy, modern Californian pop. After waking up from an afternoon siesta, guests are greeted with warm, soulful sounds that energise the rest of the day. The mood elevates as the silky R&B vocals come together with electro instrumentation and funky disco bass lines in a sultry embrace…it’s just the beginning of yet another hedonistic night at The Rooftop.
